This homemade stir fry sauce is easy to make in 5 minutes using basic ingredients! Sweet, savory, and tangy, it'll help you whip up a delicious stir fry for dinner on any night of the week. Recipe makes about 1 cup sauce.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce*
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves grated
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the water, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes, if using.
  2. Use in any stir fry, cooking over medium-high heat until the sauce thickens slightly.

Notes

  • *Make sure to use low-sodium gluten-free soy sauce or tamari if you need this recipe to be gluten-free.
