Edible Cookie Dough Recipe

Ingredients

Edible Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup all purpose flour heat treated or heat treat yourself for safety
  • 1/2 cup salted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar measure brown sugar packed
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons whole milk or half and half more or less can be used to adjust texture to your liking
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Combine butter and sugars in a mixing bowl and mix with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, approximately 2-3 minutes. Add vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon milk. Mix well to combine. 
  2. Add in flour, baking soda and salt and mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. 
  3. While cookie dough can be enjoyed immediately, for a firmer texture, chill for at least 30 minutes prior to serving.

Notes

  • Oatmeal variation can be found below this recipe card.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
  • Take care to NOT eat directly from the container it's stored in, as this can introduce bacteria to the cookie dough. 
  • Remember, there is always risk with any food, including cookie dough. For that reason, eat raw cookie dough at YOUR own risk.
