Ingredients
- 2 bread slices
- 2-3 tbsp butter melted
- 2 eggs
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Using a food cutter or the bottom of a small drinking glass, cut out the centers of bread slices. Reserve the center cut-outs.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Brush on the melted butter to both sides of the toast.
- Add the buttered bread slices and the cut-outs to the hot skillet. Cook until the bread is toasted an light golden-brown on the bottom, 1-2 minutes.
- Flip the bread slices and cut-outs using a spatula. Crack 1 egg into each hole. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover the pan and cook until the egg whites are fully set, the yolk is still runny, and the other side of the bread is golden-brown, about 3-4 minutes. (For hard-cooked egg yolks, you will want to cook for 4-5 minutes). Serve immediately.
