Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter divided use
  • 6 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups chicken broth divided use
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 Diced bell pepper
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped white onion
  • 1 cup noodles cooked and drained
  • 2 cups chicken cooked and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Melt 4 tablespoons butter; blend in flour and seasonings.
  3. Add milk and 1 cup broth; cook until thick and smooth. Stir in cheese.
  4. Sauté onion, green pepper, and celery in remaining butter. Add 1 cup broth, stir, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add to sauce with noodles and chicken.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish. Bake for 30 minutes.
