- 1 15-ounce can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 red onion chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup chickpea flour
- whole-wheat burger buns
- lettuce tomato, cucumber slices for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, combine chickpeas, red onion, parsley, cilantro, garlic, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, and salt. Pulse until mixture is coarsely ground.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add chickpea flour, and mix until well combined. Form the mixture into 4 patties and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then flip the patties and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden and firm.
- Serve the falafel burgers on whole-wheat buns with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber slices.
