Favorite Homemade Pizza

Homemade pizza dough with favorite toppings!

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water 100-110 degrees
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour divided
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pizza Sauce (recommend: Ragu brand)
  • 15 lices pepperoni
  • 8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded sharp Provolone cheese
  • 2 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh or dried Italian seasonings basil, oregano, etc.

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the honey and yeast in ¾ cup warm water in a large bowl. Let stand 5 minutes or until slightly bubbly.
  2. Spoon flour into dry measuring cup and level with a knife.
  3. Add 2 cups flour and salt to yeast mixture and mix until a soft dough forms. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 6 minutes, adding enough of the remaining flour a small amount at a time to prevent dough from sticking to your hands. The dough will feel slightly sticky.
  4. Put the dough in a large bowl coated with cooking spray. Turn dough over to coat top with oil. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85°) 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°.
  6. Roll dough into a 12-inch circle about ¼ inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
  7. Move dough to a lightly oiled pizza pan and crimp edges to form a rim.
  8. Prick dough all over surface with a fork and lightly oil with olive oil.
  9. Bake for 5-10 minutes or until dough is “set” but not cooked through. Remove from oven.
  10. Top the pizza dough with a light layer of sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella and provolone cheese. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning or basil/oregano and arrange pepperoni on top. Sprinkle Parmesan on top.
  11. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is golden and bubbly.
