Flavorful Bread Dipping Oil

This flavorful bread dipping oil will only take you 5 minutes to make and it's so full of flavor you'll want to drizzle it on more than just bread.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp sumac
  • 1 tsp zataar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated or minced
  • 2 tbsp chopped preserved lemon
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • pinch salt & pepper
  • 1 tbsp liquid honey
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh basil
  • bread for dipping (try french bread or focaccia!)

Instructions

  1. Add the ingredients to a shallow plate or bowl (sumac, zataar, dried oregano, chili flakes, minced garlic cloves, chopped preserved lemon. capers and pinch salt and pepper).
  2. Drizzle over the honey and olive oil, give it a quick stir and garnish with basil. Serve with pieces of french bread or focaccia.

Notes

  • Want to make this ahead of time? Add all of the ingredients to a container except for the fresh minced basil. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days and bring to room temperature before serving with fresh bread.
  • Don't have preserved lemons? Try zest from one lemon instead!
  • Want to use something instead of capers? Try chopped green olives.
