Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Nescafé Classic instant coffee
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar (optional)
  • very cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • milk (optional)
Equipment
  • 1 cocktail shaker (immersion blender or mini whisk)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Place the instant coffee and sugar into a cocktail shaker or jug.
  2. Pour over about ½ inch (1cm) very cold water. It is also possible to make this mixture with a mini whisk.
  3. Shake hard or blend for 1 minute, until a thick foam forms.
  4. Pour all the foam into a glass, then add ice cubes.
  5. Pour a little water into the bottom of the shaker or mixer and shake it to collect all the remaining coffee, and pour everything back into the glass.
  6. (Optional) Add a splash of milk.

Notes

  • Be careful not to add too much water, this is the most important step and condition. For a successful frappé, only put a tiny amount of water in the bottom of the shaker. This allows for a very stiff foam.
  • For people who prefer coffee with milk, use less water and more milk.
