  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

  • butter as needed

  • Fresh fruit for serving

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, nutmeg, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Dunk the bread slices into the custard mixture, allowing bread to soak up some of the mixture.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet on medium heat. Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet. Cook on both sides, about 2 to 4 minutes per side, without disturbing them. Remove from heat when golden brown.
  4. Serve hot with a drizzle of maple syrup and fresh fruit.
