Ingredients

  • 1 ½ Lb fresh ripe strawberries
  • 1 12 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 7.6 oz can media crema
  • 1 cup plain nonfat greek yogurt, regular plain yogurt or Crème fraîche.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. To a blender, add sweetened condensed milk, media crema, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract.
  2. Puree everything well. Make sure to scrape the sides with a spatula to make sure all ingredients are incorporated well. Note: The cream mixture is like a milkshake.
  3. Pour into a mixing bowl and set aside in the fridge.
  4. Slice the berries in whatever shape you like: halves, fourths, circles, cubes, etc.
  5. dd the sliced strawberries into the reserved crema mixture and mix gently.
  6. Let it sit in the fridge for a few hours for the strawberries to infuse the cream. Besides, this dessert tastes better when cold.
  7. Divide into bowls or glasses and enjoy!

Notes

  • Keep everything cold! Place the cans & strawberries in the fridge so that they're cold before making the recipe.
  • Picking strawberries: The best strawberries have a bright red color, a natural shine and fresh looking green caps. Keep your berries in the fridge and wash them just before serving.
  • Make the fresas con crema pink! You can add a few drops of pink artificial food coloring to your crema or add a few strawberries prior to blending.
  • Instead of the Greek yogurt, replace with cream cheese. The texture will be a little bit more dense but sometimes that's desired for this recipe. So good!
  • Strawberries: Store washed and sliced strawberries in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. If they release too much juice, drain any excess liquid before serving.
  • Cream Mixture: Keep the sweetened cream in a separate airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Give it a quick stir before using.
  • Assembled Dessert: If already mixed, enjoy within 24 hours. The strawberries will soften and release juice, making the cream thinner over time.
  • For the best taste and texture, assemble just before serving!
