Ingredients

  • oil for frying
  • 1 (16-ounce) jar dill pickle slices
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ¼ cup milk
  • fry sauce for dipping optional

  1. In a medium saucepan add the oil ½-inch up the sides and heat to medium-high heat. Drain 1 (16-ounce) jar dill pickle slices and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a medium-size bowl whisk 1 cup all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 1 teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon onion powder, and ½ teaspoon garlic powder. Pour in 1 ¼ cup milk and stir until lumps are out of the batter and smooth.
  3. Dip each pickle into the batter and add to the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and put on a paper towel. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
