Ingredients
Simple syrup
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
Cocktail
- 2 oz mezcal (or tequila)
- 2 oz lime juice
- ½ oz triple sec
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 2 cups ice
- 1 Tablespoon salt (or Tajin for glass rim)
Instructions
Simple Syrup
- In a small saucepan, place the sugar and water. Stir and place on low to medium heat for about 5 minutes or until it has thickened and the sugar is no longer visible.
- Turn off the heat, and set aside. Let it cool to room temperature before using.

Margarita
- Place your tajin or salt onto a flat small plate.
- Use a wedge of lime to moisten the rim of your glasses.
- Dip the edges of the rim of the glass onto a plate with tajin or salt. Set aside.
- Place your lime juice, Mezcal, triple sec, simple syrup, and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Pour into margarita glasses and garnish with mint or extra lime slices. Serve immediately
