Frozen Mezcal Margarita

Mezcal Margarita is a delicious frozen cocktail that nicely balances sweet, tart, and smoky flavors of simple syrup, lime juice, and Mezcal.

Ingredients

Simple syrup
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
Cocktail
  • 2 oz mezcal (or tequila)
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • ½ oz triple sec
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 Tablespoon salt (or Tajin for glass rim)

Instructions

Simple Syrup
    Cup of Yum
  1. In a small saucepan, place the sugar and water. Stir and place on low to medium heat for about 5 minutes or until it has thickened and the sugar is no longer visible.
  2. Turn off the heat, and set aside. Let it cool to room temperature before using.
Margarita
  1. Place your tajin or salt onto a flat small plate.
  2. Use a wedge of lime to moisten the rim of your glasses.
  3. Dip the edges of the rim of the glass onto a plate with tajin or salt. Set aside.
  4. Place your lime juice, Mezcal, triple sec, simple syrup, and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  5. Pour into margarita glasses and garnish with mint or extra lime slices. Serve immediately
