  • ¼ cup (45g) sprinkles red, white, and blue sprinkles, plus more for garnish
  • dippers assorted fruit, pretzels, cookies for dipping

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. To make the cake mix safe for raw consumption, microwave it in 30-second intervals until it reaches 160 degrees F / 71 degrees C or spread it on a baking sheet in a 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C oven for about 5 minutes.
  2. In your stand mixer or a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, cream cheese and milk and blend until creamy.
  3. Mix in the whipped topping being sure not to overmix or the dip may deflate.
  4. Next, gently fold the red, white, and blue sprinkles into the mixture.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with additional sprinkles, if desired.
  6. Serve with fresh fruit, cookies, crackers, and pretzels for dipping.

Notes

  • Heat the cake mix as directed in the recipe and allow it to cool completely before continuing.
  • Bring the cream cheese to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • Thaw frozen whipped topping.
  • Use a stand mixer or handheld electric mixer for the best results.
  • Gently fold in the sprinkles after mixing in the whipped topping to avoid overmixing. This will help the sprinkles retain their color and shape in the dip.
  • For the best texture and flavor, chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld together and the dip to firm up slightly.
  • Offer a selection of dippers, such as fruit, cookies, pretzels, or graham crackers to provide a range of flavors and textures for dipping.
