Ingredients

  • 1 lettuce washed and leaves cut or torn into large pieces, head
  • 2 tomato sliced or quartered
  • ½ red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 avocado sliced or diced
  • 1 tbs cilantro finely chopped
  • lime juice juice of 2 limes
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. To make the dressing whisk the chopped cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, salt and pepper together.
  2. Combine the lettuce, tomatoes, onions and avocado in a large bowl.
  3. Toss the salad with the dressing and serve.

  • Adding grilled chicken, salmon, or shrimp turns this salad into a complete meal.
  • Use ripe avocados for the best creamy texture and flavor.
