Garlic Cheese Balls Recipe

Use refrigerator biscuits to make these garlic cheese balls. Filled with gooey mozzarella cheese. Make in an air fryer or oven.

Ingredients

  • 1 can grands biscuits 5 biscuit size
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese or mozzarella cheese sticks
Garlic herb butter ingredients
  • 1-2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon minced garlic 
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • pinch salt optional

Instructions

  1. Split the biscuits in half.
  2. Lightly stretch them just a little.
  3. Add a handful (1-2 teaspoons) mozzarella cheese or 1/2 inch pieces of mozzarella cheese stick.
  4. Tuck and fold the biscuit dough and roll in your hands to ensure the cheese doesn't leak out as it cooks.
Air Fryer Instructions
  1. Place the cheese balls in the air fryer basket.
  2. Air fry 360 degrees F for 6 minutes.
  3. While they cook, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl.
  4. Take the basket out and brush the tops with the butter mixture.
  5. Air Fry at 360 F for another 2 minutes until the balls are golden brown.
  6. Brush them with more garlic butter sauce before serving.
Oven Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Spray a baking pan or baking sheet with cooking spray or butter the pan.
  3. Place biscuit balls in the pan.
  4. Mix the melted butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl.
  5. Brush balls with the butter mixture.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the balls are light brown.
  7. Brush them with more garlic butter sauce before serving.

Notes

  • Flaky layer biscuits are the easiest to pull apart.
  • These instructions are based on 5-can Grands biscuits. Adjust based on the number of biscuits in your can.
  • Wrap the dough tightly around the cheese, so it doesn't leak out.
  • Air-fried garlic cheese balls will be more golden brown than oven-baked ones.
