Garlic Herb Beer Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp parsley dried
  • 1 tsp oregano dried
  • 1 (12 ounce) beer
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 tbsp butter melted (separated)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375. Spray a loaf pan with non stick baking spray and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, salt, dried herbs, minced garlic and honey.
  3. Add in 2 tablespoons of the melted butter. Stir to combine.
  4. Pour in the beer, stir until combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan. Smooth out the top and brush the remaining melted butter on top.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes, until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Notes

  • You can substitute all-purpose flour with self-rising flour by leaving out the baking powder.
  • Consider white wheat or gluten-free flour for variations, but verify gluten in your beer choice.
  • Brushing melted butter on top before baking creates a rich, golden crust.
  • Fresh herbs can replace dried herbs at a ratio of 3:1 for a brighter flavor.
  • Use a light beer to prevent any bitter flavors; most alcohol will bake off during cooking.
