Garlic Lemon Asparagus
Garlic Lemon Asparagus recipe for the perfect tender-crisp veggies! Steamed to perfection and tossed in olive oil, lemon zest, and garlic.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch asparagus about 2 pounds, spears
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 lemon , juiced and zested
- 2 cloves garlic , finely minced
Instructions
- Add water to the bottom of a large pot on high heat.
- Insert a steamer bucket.
- Trim the bottom of the asparagus. To test where to trim, gently bend one stalk in your hands and see where it naturally snaps near the end.
- If stalks are thick, peel them with a peeler.
- Add asparagus to the steamer basket and steam for 5 minutes for thin stalks and 7 minutes for thicker stalks.
- Remove from basket to serving tray, toss with olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest and minced garlic.
