Ingredients

  • 1 pound asian noodles or spaghetti, I used Hakka style noodles
  • 1 bulb garlic minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • black pepper Freshly ground, to taste
  • 2 green onions sliced (optional)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the Asian noodles or spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and brown sugar. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and slightly golden, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and pour the sauce over the noodles. Toss to combine and coat the noodles evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are heated through.
  5. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
  6. Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor; pre-minced garlic from a jar can work if you're short on time.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute the noodles with rice noodles and use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Add your favorite vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas for extra nutrition and color.
  • If the noodles seem dry when reheating, add a splash of water or broth to loosen them up.
