Garlic Parmesan Pasta
A super quick and easy pasta recipe! Made with only 4 INGREDIENTS while the secret to the sauce is just the reserved pasta water. It finishes with al dente spaghetti, and a rich and buttery, garlicky parmesan sauce.

Ingredients
- 10 oz spaghetti dry
- salt and black pepper
- 1 cup water from cooking spaghetti, reserved pasta water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter cut into 1 Tbsp pieces
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic (3 cloves)
- 2 oz. Parmesan Cheese finely shredded (I use a rasp grater/zester, 1 heaping cup
Instructions
- Bring 10 cups water to a boil in a large pot. Season with salt (I use 1 Tbsp).
- Cook pasta to al denta according to directions listed on package.
- Scoop out and reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain spaghetti.
- Return empty pot to medium-low heat. Melt butter.
- Add garlic and saute until fragrant and just barely deepening in color, about 1 minute.
- Remove from heat. Return drained pasta to pot with butter mixture, pour in 1/2 hot pasta water and toss. Sprinkle in and toss in parmesan cheese, tossing until melted and thinning with more reserved pasta water as needed.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
