Ingredients

  • 12 oz. Green bean cut in half, fresh
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 2-3 garlic minced, cloves
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce (I use low sodium soy sauce)
  • 1/2 tsp. sesame oil toasted
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes optional, crushed
  • sesame seeds toasted
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Add green beans and water to a skillet with a lid. Bring water to a boil, then steam on medium heat for approximately 6-7 minutes. Don't have the heat too high or all the water will evaporate too quickly.
  2. Remove the lid and continue to cook on medium heat until all the water is mostly gone from the pan (2-3 minutes).
  3. Add the olive/avocado oil and garlic to the pan. Sauté the garlic for 2 minutes, then add the soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. The green beans should be tender-crisp. Taste for any needed salt & pepper and garnish with your desired amount of toasted sesame seeds. Enjoy!
