Ingredients

  • 8 ears of corn approx. 4-5 cups
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 /2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 /2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 - 1/2 /4 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt to taste
  • 1/4 /4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 /4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 /4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 /2 cup milk
  • 1/2 /2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in skillet over low-medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix together sugar, flour, salt, white pepper, black pepper, and thyme. Whisk in milk until combined.
  3. Add corn to skillet. Slowly pour in milk mixture and stir to combine. Simmer on low-medium heat for 15 minutes. Optional: remove half of the corn and blend in a food processor for 1 minute and then add it back to the skillet.
  4. Add heavy cream. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley as desired.

Notes

  • Want a little something extra? Stir in some parmesan cheese just before serving!
