Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 green onions sliced, whites and dark green separated
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 2 pounds ground pork
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt or more
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium
  • 5 tablespoons honey
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 4 cups cooked rice to serve (optional)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sesame oil. Once the pan is hot, add the grated ginger, garlic, and the white parts of the green onions. Saute for 1 to 2 minutes or until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground pork to the skillet and cook until the pork is almost cooked through, around 80% done, around 6 to 10 minutes, depending on the size of your skillet. Make sure to use your wooden spoon to break up the pork as you cook it.
  3. Add the salt, soy sauce, and honey to the pork and cook until everything is evenly combined. Then, let the pork cook for another minute or so undisturbed so the bottom can crisp up.
  4. Once the pork is done cooking, remove the skillet from heat and squeeze the juice of one lime on top. Stir until combined.
  5. Garnish with the dark green parts of the green onions and toasted sesame seeds if desired. Serve with rice or your side of choice.
