Ingredients

  • 2 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 3/4 c. hot water
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
Vanilla Icing
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1-2 Tbsp milk

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Using your stand mixer combine all ingredients on low speed for 30 seconds. Scrape bowl occasionally. Beat on medium speed for 3 minutes.
  2. Pour batter into a 9" pie plate prepared with Pam non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Baked at 325 degrees 50 minutes, until toothpick inserted in the center tests clean. Cool.
  4. When gingerbread is cooled mix together ingredient for icing. Drizzle over gingerbread and let set up.
