Ingredients

  • 1 pound carrots washed and peeled
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1½ teaspoons butter steak seasoning I used Kinder’s steakhouse seasoning
  • 1/3 cup water

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Peel carrots, then slice carrots into 1/2 inch thick rounds and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl add honey, Dijon mustard, garlic powder and butter steak seasoning. Stir to mix together.
  3. Place a large saucepan over medium heat. Add olive oil and allow to heat.
  4. Add carrots to the oiled pan and allow them to heat, stirring frequently for about a minute. Pour the water in and cook the carrots for 4-6 minutes, stirring frequently until they just begin to soften.
  5. Pour the honey mustard mixture over the carrots and stir until the carrots are fully coated. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring as needed to prevent them from sticking to the pan. Then serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can easily double this recipe, but expect the carrots may need to cook a little bit longer in the water to soften.
  • If you don't have the buttery steak seasoning, try this combination instead.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika if you have it)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder - this is in addition to what is already in the recipe.
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • This isn't an exact substitute for the Kinders seasoning, but will be delicious.
