Glazed Spiced Pecans

Whether garnishing salads or snacking out of hand, these glazed pecans are irresistible!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pecans
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  2. Lay a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons maple syrup, ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper, ½ teaspoon salt, ⅛ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper into a heavy, medium-sized saucepan over medium high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until it's well combined, about 30 seconds
  4. Add 2 cups pecans, stirring constantly. The mixture will foam initially, then subside and begin to toast. Toast the nuts with the glaze, stirring constantly for 4 minutes.
  5. Transfer the glazed nuts to the baking sheet and spread evenly into a single layer.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes then remove from the oven and cool the glazed pecans to room temperature.
  7. Break them apart into clusters and store in an airtight container. Nuts will be slightly tacky at room temperature.

Notes

  • Do not refrigerate.
  • One serving is approximately ¼ cup.
  • Do not refrigerate.
