Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork or lamb
- 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 red onion finely diced
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 2 Tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
- 6 mint leaves chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup flour
Optional Toppings:
- pita bread
- cucumbers
- red onion
- Tzatziki sauce
Instructions
- In a medium sized mixing bowl combine the ground beef, pork, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, parsley, mint, oregano, salt, pepper and milk. Mix until it is all incorporated.
- Shape into 2 inch meatballs.
- Add the olive oil to a medium sized skillet and turn to medium high heat.
- Roll the meatballs in the flour and place them in the pan. Cook on each side until no longer pink.
- Serve with pita bread, cucumbers, tomatoes, and tzatziki if desired.
