Grilled Balkin Sausage (Ćevapi)

Cevapi is a grilled Balkan sausage seasoned with paprika and garlic, usually served with ajvar pepper relish and pita, flatbread, or lavash.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground lamb or pork
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp black pepper
Serve with
  • Ajvar Roasted Red Pepper Relish
  • sliced white onion
  • pita
  • Lavash

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Cover and let rest minimum 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Use 2 tablespoons per sausage and shape into 3-inch long sausages.
  3. Clean grill and heat to 400°F (or use grill pan on stovetop). Spray cooking spray on grill and cook sausages 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Serve with warm bread of choice (pita or lavash) and ajvar sauce. Sliced onions and tomatoes are also suggested.
