Grilled Pineapple 3 Ways
Who would have thought grilled pineapple could be so delicious? Grilling fruit brings out its natural sweetness and enhances its flavor. Our special grilled pineapple recipe can be made in 3 different ways: simply grilled, candy-coated, and spicy!
Ingredients
- 1 pineapple peeled, cored, cut into 8 spears, fresh
Candy coating:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Spicy Candy Coating:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 to 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Preheat an outdoor grill or grill pan to medium heat. Coat grill grates with cooking spray.
- Peel and core pineapple. Slice into 8 spears.
- Make your preferred coating by mixing the coating ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Roll each spear in preferred coating and then grill for about 3 minutes per side.
- Serve right away as is or with a scoop of ice cream!
Notes
- Line a baking sheet with foil, or use a broiler pan. Broil in oven for 4-5 minutes until you start to see browning. Flip the pineapple spears over and broil for another 4-5 minutes. The time will vary based off your oven settings. Brown to your liking.
