Grilled Turkey Burgers with Curry Hummus Recipe

Ingredients

The Burgers:
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey not extra-lean
  • 1 tablespoon mild curry paste
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns*
  • 8 lices tomato
  • 4 lettuce leaves
The Hummus:
  • 6 tablespoons classic Sabra hummus
  • 1 tablespoon minced cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon mild curry paste
  • juice of ¼ lime

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Light oil the grill.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground turkey, curry paste, salt and pepper.
  3. Divide the turkey mixture in 4 equal portions and form into patties, about ½ –inch thick.
  4. Place the patties on the grill and cook until just cooked through, 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  5. Lightly toast the hamburger buns. Spread 1 ½ tablespoons curry hummus on each of the buns.
  6. Divide the cooked patties, tomato and lettuce between the hamburgers. Serve.
The Hummus:
  1. In a small bowl, stir together the hummus, cilantro, curry paste and lime juice until well combined.
