Notes
- Use fresh ground beef for this recipe and use extra lean. This is not the type of recipe that requires high fat content on the meat.
- Also try it with LAMB like this Lamb Tacos blend.
- The taco seasoning can be store bought or homemade, it’s a simple blend that you can customize to your taste.
- Cilantro is a major flavor in nachos, however you can use parsley if you’re not a fan of it.
- Likewise the jalapeños add a wonderful kick, but you can totally skip them.
- Make sure you cook the beef really well before proceeding with the recipe. The meat will not be cooking in the oven, it should be fully cooked before assembling.
- You can add the black beans to the pan once the meat is fully cooked, or you can use fried black beans or just plain black beans.
- When it comes to chips, use your favorite brand.
- Similarly the cheese is totally up to your taste. We used a combo of Monterey jack and cheddar.
- To layer the nachos , use an oven safe plate as your serving plate. Melt the cheese over the chips and then add the beef so it glues ontop of the cheese in the oven.
- Load up your favorite sauces and toppings once out of the oven and it’s reayd to serve.
- Nachos are BEST served fresh out of the oven and loaded with your favorite toppings.
- You can store leftovers in the fridge in airtight container, but they will get soggy.
- To reheat, you can place them in an air fryer at 350 degrees F for 4 minutes or in a baking sheet in the oven for 10 minutes.
- It’s best to reheat without any fresh toppings, and to re-add them once heated through. That includes salsas and guacamole.
- You can freeze the cooked meat for up to 4 months in the freezer. Nothing else is worth freezing as it loses texture dramatically.
- To prepare in advance, the best thing to do is have the toppings ready, cheese grated, sauces done. And the beef cooked up to 4 days in advance and stored in the fridge. Then all you have left is assembling.
- YOUR favourites! We love the classic sour cream, scallions, pickled jalapenos, black olives, , Nacho Cheese Sauce Recipe, Homemade Salsa and guacamole.
- However you can use: Queso, Mango Pico De Gallo, Black Bean and Corn Salad.
