Gulab Jamun Shrikhand Bowls (Indian Fusion Dessert)

An easy Indian fusion festive dessert - Gulab Jamun Shrikhand Bowls. These are easy to put together, yet super flavorful. These mini dessert bowls are a party stunner!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup Shrikhand I used shrikhand flavored with saffron and cardamom
  • 6 Gulab Jamuns
  • 1 tablespoon pistachios chopped, to garnish, or other nuts of choice
  • edible silver leaf optional

Instructions

  1. Have the gulab jamun and shrikhand ready. You can either make at home or use store bought.
  2. Cut a gulab jamun in 4 equal pieces. In a mini dessert bowl, layer it as shown in the photo.
  3. Fill the bowl with shrikhand on top of the gulab jamun pieces. Then place half a gulab jamun on top.
  4. Garnish with chopped pistachios. Optionally, decorate with edible silver leaf on top.
  5. Repeat with remaining bowl. Chill in refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

Notes

  • Glasses in place of bowls: You can also assemble this dessert in mini glasses - see the details and steps in the post.
  • Storing: You can store the bowls after assembling for 1 day in the refrigerator. Cover each assembled bowl with a plastic cling wrap.
