Ingredients

  • 10 habanero peppers
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Remove the stems and seeds from the habanero peppers. Wear gloves to protect your hands from the capsaicin, the compound that gives peppers their heat.
  2. Place the peppers in a blender or food processor with the vinegar, water, garlic, salt, and sugar.
  3. Blend the mixture until it is smooth.
  4. Pour the sauce into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly.
  6. Allow the sauce to cool, then transfer it to a jar or bottle. Store the sauce in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • This habanero sauce is very hot, so use it sparingly. It can be used to add a spicy kick to a variety of dishes, such as wings, tacos, or sandwiches. Enjoy!
