Haitian Fried Green Plantains Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 plantains
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel the plantains and cut them into thin slices. Pat dry with kitchen towels.
  2. Add oil into a deep fryer or pot on medium. Heat it to 350 F.
  3. Carefully place a few pieces of plantain into the oil. Fry about for about 3 minutes on each side or until golden and crispy.
  4. Remove the fried plantains from the oil, and place them on a cutting board.
  5. Squash down the plantains using the back of a plate. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Serve and enjoy!
