Ingredients
- 10 ounces (283g) leftover ham or ham deli meat
- 12 slices cheese such as provolone, Gouda or Havarti
- 12 Hawaiian dinner rolls
- 4 tablespoons melted butter or more, as needed
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning or poppy seeds or Everything Bagel seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C / gas 4.
- Remove rolls from packaging, and without separating the individual rolls, slice the entire tray in half horizontally.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls in a greased/lined casserole dish.
- Layer with half the cheese slices, the ham, and then the remaining cheese. Cover with the top bun.
- Combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, and Italian seasoning in a bowl and then brush over the top of the rolls.
- Cover the baking dish with foil (making sure it doesn't touch the rolls and wipe off the butter) and bake for 10 minutes.
- Then remove the foil and cook for an additional 7-10 minutes until the rolls are nicely browned.
Cup of Yum
Notes
- If your package of dinner rolls contains more than 12, you may need to use a couple of extra slices of cheese.
- You may need to add a tablespoon or two of melted butter to ensure there is enough to cover all of the sliders.
- Like to spice things up? Add a dash of hot sauce, ground cayenne, or red pepper flakes to the melted butter.
- If you don't have a large enough casserole dish, use a baking tray instead.
- You can easily swap the ham for leftover turkey or chicken.
- Try making this with cheddar cheese, swiss, or a combination of different cheeses.
- Storage - keep in an airtight container inside the fridge for 3 days.
