Ingredients

  • 10 ounces (283g) leftover ham or ham deli meat
  • 12 slices cheese such as provolone, Gouda or Havarti
  • 12 Hawaiian dinner rolls
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter or more, as needed
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning or poppy seeds or Everything Bagel seasoning

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C / gas 4.
  2. Remove rolls from packaging, and without separating the individual rolls, slice the entire tray in half horizontally.
  3. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a greased/lined casserole dish.
  4. Layer with half the cheese slices, the ham, and then the remaining cheese. Cover with the top bun.
  5. Combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, and Italian seasoning in a bowl and then brush over the top of the rolls.
  6. Cover the baking dish with foil (making sure it doesn't touch the rolls and wipe off the butter) and bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Then remove the foil and cook for an additional 7-10 minutes until the rolls are nicely browned.

Notes

  • If your package of dinner rolls contains more than 12, you may need to use a couple of extra slices of cheese.
  • You may need to add a tablespoon or two of melted butter to ensure there is enough to cover all of the sliders.
  • Like to spice things up? Add a dash of hot sauce, ground cayenne, or red pepper flakes to the melted butter.
  • If you don't have a large enough casserole dish, use a baking tray instead.
  • You can easily swap the ham for leftover turkey or chicken.
  • Try making this with cheddar cheese, swiss, or a combination of different cheeses.
  • Storage - keep in an airtight container inside the fridge for 3 days.
