Ingredients

  • 1 Sheet puff pastry (size: about 9½ x 15½ in.)
  • 1 Apple, medium/large
  • 1 Tomato, medium/large
  • 7 oz (200g) ham
  • 7 oz (200g) cheese (I used Gouda)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 390°F (200°C).
  2. For the filling, chop the cooked ham, peel and chop the apples, chop the tomatoes, and grate the cheese. Transfer everything to a medium sized bowl and mix well together. Set aside.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry dough and fold it lengthwise in half. Transfer to a baking sheet and fold one half back.
  4. Transfer the filling onto the pastry dough and distribute evenly across one half of the sheet making sure to leave about an inch of space on the sides.
  5. Fold the second half of the dough over the first, line up with the bottom half and use a fork to pinch the edges shut.
  6. In a small bowl, beat an egg together to make an egg wash. Using a pastry brush, spread the egg wash evenly on the pastry.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Serve with a dollop of sour cream or as is.
