Hawaiian Slow Cooker Kalua Pork
Hawaiian Slow Cooker Kalua Pork features a bone-in pork shoulder seasoned generously with pink salt and a splash of Worcestershire sauce. The pork cooks uncovered in a slow cooker for 24 hours on low, rendering tender, shreddable meat with a subtly smoky and savory flavor. The slow, low-temperature method brings out the pork's natural juices and allows the salt to penetrate deeply.
Ingredients
- 6 pound pork shoulder , bone-in
- 2 tablespoons pink salt , Hawaiian or Himalayan (kosher salt is okay too)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Put pork in the slow cooker, fattier side up.
- Season with salt all over then add the Worcestershire sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 24 hours (don't add any water).
