Healthier Homemade Vegan Teriyaki Sauce

This healthy teriyaki sauce is made with only 6 ingredients! It's refined sugar-free and it's absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup See Note
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger or 3 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tablespoon corn starch
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. In a small sauce pan, whisk the soy sauce, syrup, vinegar, ginger and garlic powder until combined.
  2. Heat on medium-high heat until it just begins to boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  3. Whisk the corn starch and water together in a small bowl until fully combined. Whisk into the teriyaki sauce for approximately 30 seconds or until it thickens. Remove from heat.
