Healthy Vegan Chocolate Milkshake
A healthier chocolate milkshake made with whole food banana instead of ice cream. So creamy, smooth, and luxurious!
Ingredients
- 1 cup plant milk
- 1 banana frozen if possible, ripe
- 2 Tbsp. cacao powder
- 1 Tbsp. pure maple syrup (or pitted dates to sweeten)
Optional:
- vanilla extract 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/8 tsp almond extract, 2-3 ice cubes
- almond extract
- protein powder
- ice cubes
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust if necessary.
Notes
- *Bananas: Frozen bananas result in a thicker, creamier, milkshake-like consistency. But if you don't have frozen, fresh will work too. For an even thicker milkshake, use up to 2 bananas if desired.
- Milk: I use unsweetened milk. You may want to reduce the maple syrup if using sweetened milk. (Any plant milk should work here. I've use almond, cashew, soy, etc.)
- Yield: Recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups.
