Hibiscus Margarita (Jamaica Margarita)
this Jamaica Margarita (or Jamaicarita, if you will 😉) is the brightly-hued sipper your happy hour has been missing.
Ingredients
- tajin seasoning for rimming
- 1 cup hibiscus tea chilled, Agua de Jamaica
- 3 ounces tequila (reposado or añejo)
- 1 lime juiced
- 1 tablespoon agave nectar
- orange for garnish, dried, sliced
Instructions
- Use a lime wedge to moisten the rim of cocktail glasses. Dip the rim of glasses in Tajin.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add agua de jamaica, tequila, lime juice, and agave to the cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker frosts over.
- Add a large ice cube to your prepared glasses and pour the Jamaica Margarita into glasses. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Hosting a party? Batch out a pitcher of pre-mixed hibiscus margaritas, then set out a few cocktail shakers and a bucket of ice for your guests to serve themselves.
- Made too much jamaica margarita mix? Pour the leftovers into popsicle molds for adult paletas!
- Want to step up your presentation? Add dried hibiscus flowers to ice cubes for an added flourish of color and pizzazz.
