Holiday Shortbread Balls

Lightly sweet and melt-in-the-mouth, Melting Moments Cookies get a makeover, with pretty holiday sprinkles on top!

Ingredients

  • Sprinkles or other decoration optional
Cookies
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup all purpose flour spooned, not scooped
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
Frosting
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 Tablespoons cream adjust as needed

Instructions

  1. Cream butter with sugar and vanilla. Combine flour, cornstarch and salt, then mix into butter mixture.
  2. Form into 1 inch balls (chill briefly if needed for workability). Refrigerate balls until chilled.
  3. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375 F for 10 minutes. Cool.
  4. To make frosting, melt butter, then cream with sugar and vanilla. Add cream adjusting if needed to make a spreadable consistency.
  5. Frost cooled cookies and decorate if desired.
