Ingredients
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 4-5 cups filtered water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 dates or 3 tbsp of honey or maple syrup
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder – for chocolate almond milk
- 1 cup frozen strawberries – for strawberry almond milk
Instructions
- Prepare the almonds: Soak your almonds overnight in water. If you are using 1 cup almonds, be sure to have at least 2 cups water. The almonds will absorb the liquid and expand.
- Blend everything together: drain the almonds and blend together the almonds, water, vanilla extract, salt, and sweetener of choice. Blend in cocoa for chocolate milk and blend in strawberries for strawberry milk.
- Strain: strain through the cheesecloth or nut milk bag (I like putting a fine mesh strainer underneath for extra support) and squeeze every last bit of liquid out of the almonds.
- Store or serve immediately.
