Homemade Berry Pie
Homemade berry pie is a classic all year round no matter the occasion. It's a perfect balance of sweet and tart and packed with berry flavor!

Ingredients
- 2 pie crusts see note for recipe
- 5 cups mixed berries see note
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons instant tapioca
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons butter cold, cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400ºF.
- Place half of the berries (2 ½ cups) in a small saucepan and reduce over medium heat for about 8 minutes.
- Combine reduced berries with the rest of the frozen berries, sugar, tapioca, zest, and salt.
- Place one of the pie crusts in the bottom of a pie plate.
- Pour berry filling into the pie plate. Scatter butter over the top.
- Cut vents of any shape into the top of the second pie crust. Place on top of the pie. Trim and crimp edges.
- Bake at 400ºF for 25 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350ºF and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
- Let cool completely before serving.
