Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ cup 1 stick butter, cold and cubed

  1. Mixing in Bowl:
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt
  3. Cut butter into flour mixture using a pastry blender or fork
  4. Transfer to airtight container and store in refrigerator for up to 3 months
  5. Food Processor Method:
  6. Add flour, baking powder and salt to food processor
  7. Pulse to combine
  8. Add butter and pulse until mixture is coarse and resembles cornmeal
  9. Transfer to airtight container and store in refrigerator for up to 3 months
  10. Biscuits: makes 8 using a 2.5 inch cutter
  11. Use 1 ½ cups homemade bisquick
  12. Use ½ cup milk
  13. Lightly spray cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray
  14. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  15. Combine ingredients in a medium bowl until soft dough forms
  16. Knead dough until well combined
  17. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough out with a rolling pin to about ½ inch thick and cut with a round cookie cutter
  18. Alternatively, drop by tablespoons onto greased baking sheet
  19. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until golden brown
