Homemade Chocolate Syrup Recipe
This rich decadent syrup contains pure ingredients you can feel good about eating and the process takes a pinch of your time. We add a little sea salt and cinnamon to create a warm and deep flavor with a twist. Trust me, take an extra step and make your chocolate syrup.

Ingredients
- 1 cup hot water
- ¾ cup good quality cocoa powder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon REAL Vanilla Extract
- ½ teaspoon fresh ground cinnamon optional
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Boil hot water and set aside. Combine the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt together in a saucepan. Wisk to combine.
- Add hot water whisking constantly over low heat until the mixture thickens and begins to simmer (about 8-10 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir the vanilla and cinnamon (if desired) into the syrup. You will know it is done when it sticks to the back of a spoon.
- Serve warm or store and refrigerate until serving.

Notes
- Store chocolate syrup in a mason jar or air-tight container in the fridge. It will last about 2 months.
- *If making hot or cold chocolate milk add 1-3 tablespoons per 8 oz of milk. It depends on how sweet you like it! Serve over ice cream, or use it as the liquid for homemade tiramisu.
