Homemade Garlic Bread

Garlic bread homemade from scratch is so much better than store-bought! This garlic bread recipe has the best spread, it's buttery and takes 20 mins to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf country-style French bread or French baguette
Garlic Bread Spread
  • 6 cloves garlic peeled
  • 1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).
  2. To make garlic bread spread, process the garlic in a food processor until fine. Add the parsley, salt and pepper and pulse twice.
  3. Heat the olive oil and butter in a medium sauté pan. Remove the pan from the heat and add the mixture to the spread.
  4. Slice the bread in half horizontally and spread the Garlic Bread Spread on both halves. Then, press the halves together and wrap the bread in aluminum foil.
  5. Place the wrapped bread in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Then, open the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes. Slice into pieces and serve immediately.
