Homemade grenadine

Grenadine is a classic cocktail ingredient, and tastes so much better homemade. Plus, it's easy too.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup pomegranate juice freshly squeezed or bought (unsweetened)
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice or 1 or 2 drops orange flower water

Instructions

  1. Place the pomegranate juice and sugar in a small saucepan and warm over a medium-low heat. Stir occasionally and remove from heat once the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the lemon juice (or orange flower water) and stir then transfer to clean bottle or jar. Store in the fridge to last longer.
