Homemade Hot Sauce

Our favorite homemade hot sauce recipe is easy to make with just a few ingredients, and you can adjust it exactly to your family's preferences.Yield:  1 1/2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 large red jalapeno or hot pepper of choice, veined
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 c water
  • 1 c white vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine pepper, onion, garlic, and water. Bring to a boil, and simmer, uncovered, for 20 min, until veggies are soft. Remove from heat and let mixture cool slightly.
  2. Place pepper mixture in the bowl of your food processor and process with vinegar until smooth.
  3. Sauce will keep in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
