Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe
Simple and flavorful pizza sauce for homemade pizza, or use as a dipping or marinara sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 28 ounce tomato puree I used Muir Glen
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup onion diced
- 3-4 garlic diced, cloves
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add oil to a medium saucepan and on medium-high heat cook onion until it begins to soften (1-2 minutes). Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Add the tomato puree and mix ingredients together. Add salt, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (optional) salt and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
