Homemade Sloppy Joes Recipe

These Homemade Sloppy Joes are a hit with kids and adults alike. The ground beef is seasoned with onion and garlic and cooked in a delicious sauce that’s sweet and tangy. Serve it on toasted hamburger buns and you’re good to go!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • Ketchup to taste
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 5 hamburger buns toasted

Instructions

  1. In a large pan over medium heat, add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper and cook, stirring often, until browned. Use a spoon to remove any excess oil that’s collected in the pan.
  2. Add the garlic and onion and cook for a few minutes. Stir in the remaining sauce ingredients.
  3. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until well combined and saucy.
  4. Serve warm on toasted hamburger buns.
