Ingredients
- 1 cup (5oz/142g) all purpose flour
- ½ cup (2oz/57g) dark brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ⅔ cups (4oz/115g) fresh breadcrumbs*
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground allspice
- ⅔ cup (5oz/150g) frozen butter
- 1 inch fresh ginger finely grated
- 2 large eggs
- ¾ cup (7½ oz/213g) treacle (molasses)
- ½ cup (4floz/115ml) whole milk

- Breadcrumbs: If using dried breadcrumbs you only need 3/4 cup (2oz/57g)
